Thunk! Crack! Ding! Those are the sounds we hate to hear as we drive on the highway. It means, here comes trouble. It means in my experience, that I may need to have some auto glass repair done. I have had a broken windshield a few times in my driving career. Every time something happened to my windshield, it happened while driving at high speeds on the highway. You can never tell if the car in front of you will hit s stone and ding your windshield. Perhaps you are stuck behind a dump truck and a pebble falls off. At highway speeds, it is almost certain that you will need an auto glass specialist.

Last year, I ended up through some lucky coincidence of having two windshields replaced in two weeks. So I rapidly learned from experience a little bit about auto glass. My first ding – I never knew what happened. One day, I went to my car and there it was – a large crack across my windshield. One evening it was not there, and the next morning it was. Perhaps it was the stress of a cold January day that found a weakness in the auto glass of my car.

So I called my local auto glass repair experts. They came out to my car and were courteous and professional as they replaced my windshield. One week later, I am driving on the highway with my beautiful new windshield. Thunk! My new windshield was just hit by a stone. I look, and I think Mr. Murphey was watching me because I had a nick in my windshield. So I called the auto glass repair shop once again. It is cheaper to seal a nick in a windshield than to replace the windshield. Many times, the repaired hole will last a long time.

My repair lasted until this last cold spell. Then the crack started. Just along the bottom moving across the windshield. After a couple feet of moving across, it moved up and down. I needed a new windshield. It was just my luck. I hope that this time, I will keep away from stray pebbles that go thunk!

A broken and dinged windshield is not fun. It is inconvenient and yet it must be taken care of. A small ding in a windshield can become a large crack quickly. The auto glass shops will help you handle your insurance claim and make sure that you get prompt and courteous attention.

How’s the old gas mileage these days? Are you getting that 40 miles to the gallon we all dream of? Ha, that’s a laugh. Chances are you’re getting half that. If you live in the good old U.S. of A, then you’ve probably noticed by now that everyone bought an SUV. Well, that is of course unless you’re like me and purchased a mini-van. Now who’s the dork with the mini-van? Anyway, the greatest problem with SUVs is their horrible tendency to guzzle gasoline. However, their popularity is clear. Loads of individuals and families have run out to buy them for the past decade. Of course it doesn’t seem like the most prudent choice anymore. Now that fuel prices have skyrocketed and don’t seem to be dropping any time soon, the fun and exciting SUV doesn’t appear so desirable. It’s all about car fuel efficiency now days, folks. How many miles are you getting to the gallon?

What vehicle comes to mind when you think car fuel efficiency? For me it’s the ever-popular Hummer or H2. The reason this dazzling SUV pops into my head is because it’s like the worst. I mean come on, this eight cylinder ride chugs down fuel like there’s no tomorrow. That’s got to cost a pretty penny. Heck, I just got gas two days ago and it cost me 3.10 a gallon.

What is the deal here? I used to think it was due to the war, since I assumed the majority of our fuel came from the Middle East, but now I know better. I read that the majority, like 80 percent of America’s gas comes from Canada. Huh? Maybe we should be fighting them instead. Regardless of the horrific prices tacked on gasoline these days, all we can do is search high and low for car fuel efficiency in recent models. Luckily there are a variety of hybrids coming out now days.

Four cylinders or six? Which one are you driving? Please don’t tell me you went with an eight cylinder gas hog? If you know anything about car fuel efficiency, you probably purchased or traded for a four cylinder ride. Especially in small vehicles, you can receive excellent gas mileage. However car fuel efficiency doesn’t only have to do with the size of your car. Some smart folks are turning to the contemporary hybrids for the best results. This way you can rely on a battery and gasoline and really cut back on the fuel bill.

What about Car shipping. Isn’t it simply the method of transporting your vehicle from point A to point B. As consumers, there are a few things that are very important when choosing someone who is in the car shipping business. First, when considering car shipping, the cost to ship is very important. Is their price for car shipping competitive and reasonable? Second, I need to know if the business has a good quality and safety record. Will the methods they use for car shipping assure me that my vehicle will arrive safely and in one piece at the destination? Finally, it is important to consider punctuality when considering a car shipping business. Will my vehicle arrive when it was promised to arrive?

Some car shipping is only domestic. Other shippers deal with international countries. When looking for a car shipping business, you must consider from where you will start and what your destination will be. How much experience does the company have in shipping to that destination?

I have learned the hard way about which questions to ask when shipping a car or other vehicle internationally. My experience taught me that there is a lot to learn before committing to a specific car shipping company. The costs to ship your vehicle will be significantly more than shipping domestically. Also, when shipping internationally, you must have clear title to the vehicle in order to get the vehicle through customs with both the outgoing and incoming countries.

When selecting a car shipping company, ask them in writing, when exactly your car will depart and when it will arrive. My last experience was not good. My car sat around waiting for other cars to go to the same country. It took an extra four months for my car to even leave port, let alone arrive at its destination.

It is important to verify the arrival date as well. You will likely have to pay some customs fees to receive your incoming vehicle. Be sure to have the original title with you as well as the original bill of landing when you want to claim you vehicle. The car shipping company should be able to provide you with an exact date of arrival for your vehicle.

The best advice is to shop wisely and ask a lot of questions when looking for a car shipping company. Choose someone who has a lot of experience and a proven track record shipping to the country you are planning on sending your car to. If your car shipping company does not have the experience needed, you may find that you have many paperwork headaches.

How safe are you when you’re cruising down the road in your SUV or mini-van? Do you ever feel like potential danger could arise out of nowhere? Well, you should, because in reality it can. As statistics have shown for years, anything from car-jackings, to random abductions can occur. This is why it’s imperative to stay on top of safety pre-cautions. I’m talking about a viper car alarm and some pepper spray. Okay, so I may sound a tad harsh, but it’s a harsh world out there. Our lives are worth the extra effort. What are you doing to keep you and your family safe?

Have you ever seen the commercial for the viper car alarm? These babies are sweet. The ads typically depict a viper snake attacking the criminal who attempts to penetrate the car. How cool is that! Now, you may be wondering how protecting your car will keep you safe. Well, let me give you the rundown. Your vehicle is often susceptible to criminals and deviants. Just stop and think of everywhere you park it. I mean how many people do you think walk by it everyday.

Herein lies the problem. If a total nut case happens to stroll by your vehicle and finds out that he can get inside, this could prove fatal for you. How would you like to hop in your car after a long day at the office and suddenly spot a crazed lunatic in your back seat? Sound splendid? My guess is no. This is where the viper car alarm comes into play. Once you’ve properly installed this security system, you won’t have to worry about some freak sneaking into your car when you’re not around. Hey, they always go for the ones that are easy to access. That’s just the way of the criminal. So don’t put yourself out there. Be prepared with a quality viper car alarm.

If you are searching for a viper car alarm to secure your vehicle, you can easily find one on the World-Wide-Web. Hop online and sort through a vast array of security products and devices to help keep you safe. There’s nothing wrong with taking a few extra precautions when it comes to staying safe. Maybe a viper car alarm is just what you’ve been looking for. Another helpful hint regarding safety is to always ride with your doors locked. If you can keep your windows up, this is prudent as well. Criminals target those they can assault quickly and easily.

My Dad owned an International truck. It was a beastly thing, not in size but in steel and sound and power. It was also a dependable vehicle, and the one I learned the most about automotive maintenance with. My Dad would tinker and tweak on that International truck, doing everything from fussing with the four-wheel drive caps to greasing the somethings—the bushings or bearings, I think—to getting us kids to do the reaching into smaller, tighter places to retrieve bolts he’d dropped or spark plugs we had been fascinated with from the start.

The International truck model he got—which if I recall was the International Harvester 1210–in the seventies was, evidently, one of the models that contributed to making International Truck Corporation one of the largest truck manufacturers around. It makes sense that the 4 x 4 was a great heavy-duty tasking truck, which Dad used for hauling lumber, going to the motorcross and snowmobile races, and doing minor farming jobs, as the International truck line began as and continues to be one of the premier bug truck industries.

It also makes sense that this line is ideal for vintage enthusiasts, and even off-roaders and hot-rodders, if you will. Many guys modify the rigs for derbies/races, or for just kickin’ it. One guy, for example, tricked out a vintage Bobtail International Truck, a 1964 International Harvester Scout 80 Cabtop (very much like the one my Pop, my Dad’s Dad, had): the guy added Mopar semifloater, Dodge engine (a 318 with a Torqueflite 727), and Dana 44, tweaked the axles, added 35-inch tires, and takes it out to the mud tracks. (There’s a blurb and photo at Off-Road Adventures, by the way.)

The most often seen line of International trucks is the heavy truck and mid-line diesel engine size line, though anyone not interested or not an aficionado of trucks in general or the International truck in particular will not care or will miss the fact that the highways are lined with them. But for those who do care, International Truck has a new model of big rig: the 310 horse-powered ProStar. The think is massive, fast, and, in a strange way, a beauty.

You would have thought that 1972 International truck was a big rig…on the day my brother was dying of heat and begged me to drive him to the lake. I had never driven a stick, was 15, was a chick, and was, of course, forbidden to do something like steal a parent’s vehicle to satisfy personal wishes. I ground the gears all the way up the steep, two-mile long hilly climb to the lake…and all the way back. The sounds the truck made scared me. But I made the trip and made my entry into the world of trucks. I can’t get them out of my system even now, some thirty years later.

I am the biggest bargain hunter you will ever meet. I have friends who insist on taking me shopping with them whenever they are about to make a major purchase. I have a passion for car shopping. I see that there is a sale going on with some excellent car deals and I’m making a list of things that are wrong with my current vehicle. I look over that list and decide that it just may be worthwhile to check out the current car deals that are available. It never matters that I may have a vehicle that is virtually brand new. There’s always a better deal to be found. And if there is, I intend to find it.

I can’t even tell you how many new vehicles I’ve owned since turning sixteen. I’ve never not had a car payment to pay every month. Considering the amount of competition there is right now between all of the different makes and models of vehicles out there, it’s easy to find some great car deals. Whether the dealership is offering a private sale or the company is offering special pricing or rebates, saving thousands of dollars is never a bad concept. I’ve often wondered about how great a deal you’re actually getting when the company announces employee pricing or 0% financing. I’ve read the fine print on those car deals and for the most part they are a bargain. What has always bothered me is when they spend so much time announcing rebates and 0% financing that they have you convinced that you can take advantage of both offerings. Once they have you baited and you’ve fallen in love with that dream vehicle, they tell you that you can take advantage of the rebate or the financing. But, you can’t have both.

Suddenly, you’re in love with this vehicle and you are looking at higher payments than what you were planning on. Do you sign on the dotted line? Most people do. Or, you can continue to bargain until you get a better deal. That’s what I do. Read the fine print on those amazing car deals before you take that test drive. Convince your salesman that you have done some shopping around and know exactly what you can and cannot afford. Know your budget and stick to it. Many times, if they know your price range, they may bend over backwards to get you that bargain since they know you just might be giving them a fatter commission check.

Realize that some of those car deals that are tempting you with their price offerings really might be the absolute best deal you will find. Do your research first. Know what your trade-in is worth. See what other car deals are out there. Be well informed before you start your bargain hunting. Then, you’ll be able to sign on that dotted line and drive out of that lot in your dream car.

How much do you like your music? One of the most important features of any vehicle is the stereo system. Well, that’s true if you’re a teenager or an adult who loves their tunes. Factory car stereo features in newer model vehicles include CD changers, MP3 players, DVD players, LCD displays with touch screen controls, amplifiers, satellite and Internet connections, and countless other options.

The sound quality that you ultimately hear is mainly determined by the car speakers. Most speakers will be 2-way or 3-way and provide the crisp quality you’re looking for. Component speaks are also an option if you’re designing a complete audio system.

Thankfully, you don’t have to buy a $30,000 car just to enjoy a high quality factory car stereo system. You can purchase portable radios, CD players, DVD players, MP3 players and complete audio systems for your vehicle separately. Depending on the list of features prices can range up to $800.00 but also be as low $80.00. Most stereos come with a detachable faceplate and are transferable to older vehicles. You don’t have to spend thousands of dollars on a new car just to drive in style. A clean car with a booming sound system is just as impressive.

However, many music lovers prefer to build their own sound system and are looking for the services of a technician who specializes in stereo repair or rebuilding. Why buy a new factory car stereo when you can create your own from the parts you already have?

Even if you’re not mechanically inclined, vendors can repair a factory car stereo for you. Some companies specializing in parts related to car stereos are locally based and charge a flat fee for the repair or re-creation of a new stereo system. They might also sell replacement parts to those who want to tinker around with their factory car stereo personally and save money on repairs.

Online vendors are located all around the country and will offer to replace parts or totally repair your factory car stereo for you if you send the merchandise. Many companies realizing the security risks and hoping to put potential customers at ease offer referrals, warranties, and official affiliations, such as the Better Business Bureau. Warranties for legitimate online companies are attractive, with some agreeing not to charge you if the stereo or equipment is not repairable. The vendor might also sell instructions on how to remove a factory car stereo from a vehicle. You may prefer to search the Internet for more information on how to buy a factory car stereo or how to repair one.

Are you in desperate search of that new ride? It can be a blast browsing all over town for that new car. You get to test drive several, and compare prices on different models. One thing I’ve certainly noticed in the past is that different areas definitely slap varying price tags on their cars. It’s almost ridiculous. You can venture into a big city and stroll through a nice dealership, then check out a car that sports a 20 grand price tag. Then you head to a small country town and check out the same vehicle, only it now has a 16 grand price tag. What happened? Well, this just proves that it pays to shop around. These days we don’t even have to leave the comfort of our own homes to do this. You can basically pop open your laptop and view car web sites all you want. Isn’t it cool how convenient things have become? You just got to love the Internet.

Have you sifted through the various car web sites? If you’re in search of that new car, I suggest that you check out Carmax.com. This is a rather reasonable car web site that lists its vehicles at the prices they sell for. No haggling aloud. They have a variety of used cars if you’re not looking to fork out that load of cash for a brand spanking new vehicle. I checked out their store on several occasions with my brother. That guy is always browsing for a new ride. I have to admit that I did spot some sweet deals when I was there.

The thing I love about the World-Wide-Web is the deluge of information. Everything is accessible. The car salesmen have to be hating this. They truly can’t dupe you with a high price if you’ve already done your homework online. You know what the car sells for brand new. You can even get the lowdown on what the car is worth used. There are a number of car web sites that will give you the street value of a vehicle, depending on it’s age, mileage, and overall condition. This is a wonderful source to take full advantage of before conversing with salesmen. Know your stuff first.

With the plethora of car web sites at your very fingertips these days, you truly should have no trouble locating that car you’ve always wanted. With cyberspace on your side, you can’t be deceived. Get the rundown on any car you choose by popping open Google.com and getting started now. Those handy car web sites are just waiting for your queries.

Car accident lawyers are renown for their wheeling and dealing and overall desire to exploit an accident for all its worth.

Car accident lawyers are generally frowned on by every other kind of lawyer, and it’s usually the people that couldn’t get work in other fields of law that wind up working as accident attorneys. Because there are so many lawyers out there and only so many jobs, you can’t really blame car accident lawyers for doing what they do as they’re just trying to make a living.

Unfortunately, many of them make their living by encouraging people to engage in frivolous lawsuits over mild or non-existent injuries and damages. The commercials I see all the time showing people bragging about how much money they raked in when they called the advertised car accident lawyer about their accident doesn’t help anything at all. Everyone wants to get rich quick, and knowing that you can pull in a large amount of money from an accident is too tempting for some people.

As an example, I was recently involved in a three car accident that wasn’t my fault. I was hit from behind, and subsequently forced into the car in front of me. Fortunately, no one was hurt and very little damage was done to any of the cars. The guy who hit me was very apologetic, and his insurance covered my minor damages without any dispute. I wasn’t hurt in anyway, so I left it at that.

Unfortunately, the women whom I bumped into in front of me called a car accident lawyer, and decided to exploit my insurance company for as much as she could. Suddenly she was claiming to be injured, and provided a series of photos of damages to her car that I know that I didn’t cause. While it wasn’t my money she was after, my rates did go up as a result and I now carry around a camera with me in case it happens again. Because so many people see car accidents as potential lottery tickets, take pictures of everything if you’ve been involved in one!

Having said all that, there is of course an inherent need and value to a good car accident lawyer. They aren’t all bad, and there are certainly times when a lawsuit and settlement is most definitely deserved after a bad accident. No amount of money is worth having a permanent injury, and if you’ve been genuinely hurt in an accident that wasn’t your fault a good car accident lawyer is highly recommended. Do not put off getting a one if you really need it.

There can be many bike accessories that you can use with a bicycle but none are more important than ones used for safety on the road. Bicyclists have to share the road with motorized vehicles and for this reason safety bike accessories are important. Although most motorists are respectful and careful when it comes to cyclists, accidents do happen.

Reflectors which can be put in the spokes, handlebars, or on the seat are vital bike accessories to have especially if riding in the evening. Many drivers have trouble seeing bicyclists at night and by having reflectors on the bike it lets the drivers know that you are on the road with them and they can take precautions that they normally wouldn’t if they couldn’t see you.

Along the lines of reflectors a safety item that can kill two birds with one stone is a reflector strip that can wrap around your leg with a reflector on it. Also these bike accessories wrap the pant leg tightly around the leg, closest to the chain, so it does not get caught in it. These bike accessories can also be purchased without reflectors and can be important for keeping grease off your pants as well as keeping the chain from jamming when your pants get caught in it. This is important as it may keep you from falling off your bike.

Lights that can be strapped to the handlebars are also important bike accessories when riding at night. These bicycle lights are especially made for riding at night to let you know where you are going. Many can be hooked on to the handlebar and taken off when not needed which makes the light one of the most useful bike accessories.

One of the most important bike accessories for safety is a helmet. The helmet protects the head while riding which is the most sensitive part of the body and is at great risk to being damaged if being thrown from a bike. There are many types of helmets in terms of bike accessories whether they are racing helmets or ones for every day use. The helmet can be the piece of plastic that can save your life.

Parents will want to insist their child wear a bike helmet. In fact, some communities are now making helmets mandatory for children under a certain age.

Bicycle horns are bike accessories that can make the rider safer. Using a horn, much like reflectors or lights, let others you are sharing the road with, know that you are there. Just knowing you are on the road, the driver or other cyclist can be alert to the fact that they are sharing the road with you and be more careful because of it.

There can be many different types of bike accessories many of which are to make the bike faster or look better but the most important of them all involve safety and ensure that the rider will be still be peddling in the future.
